hello all!
just wanted ot start a new thread for people to talk about the art for everyone exhibition which is on the 5th december 2006, 7pm in the main hall
as the name suggests, the art for everyone exhibition is for anything, and everyone. as the stall is being held by us, we cannot display artowrk that contradicts what were about, but apart from this, we can have anything on the stall. it doesnt just have to be artwork necessarily, it can be jewellry or anything really, and you are also allowed ot sell things at this event, if its your own work, however you dont have to
so if anyone has any thoughts or wants to submit something into the show, please say here and/or at the meeting
thanks

here is the information liz (the organiser of the event) sent me for those that want to read it Exhibitors Guidelines and Information:
The "Arts for all Exhibition" is to be held in Teesside university sports hall in December. It is an opportunity to display, exhibit and expose your work to the public and others. Among the invitees are department store designers (who are huge buyers of original artwork at the moment), fashion and photography writers as well as other artists and art institution representatives. This is a charity event and is ran in association with the Cleveland Disability Forum who actively promote the inclusion of all peoples no matter what their disability.
The date for the exhibition and sale is the 5th of December 2006, it will be hosted at Teesside University's main sports hall (If you need directions I will send you a map), the event is due to start at 7.00pm but if you could arrive about 6.15pm in order to set up that would be great. This event is arranged to make the most of the run up to Christmas and will give your art work exposure and the chance to make maximum profit.
When you arrive, there will be a little name tag allocating you your area, you can wear the tag or display it so every one knows who the paintings belong too. It is your exhibition so feel free to send out as many invitations or flyers as you want to advertise your own work, the event will be advertised as a whole but you are not limited to our invitees (after all we may not know every important art critic or writer who you may benefit from displaying your work too!) If you would like a template invitation I will send one too you.
You will be provided with an 8 foot by 4 foot board on which to exhibit, but if you feel that you will need more space feel free to bring your own boards, mannequins or what ever you need in order to exhibit. On your display board you can arrange your work as you please and if you need a table to display or sell smaller items just let me know and I’ll allocate a table to your board on the night.
The event as a whole will be advertised but obviously if there is a particular body or organisation that you want to view your work, then get in touch with them and invite them specially. This event is by no means exclusive to our selection of invitees; take this as your exhibition and invite those that you want see your work.

Well, there is certainly the one work in which I have invested inequal amounts of energy over the last few months:- www.angelfire.com/retro/mracer/art/2006WomanCombingHair1.JPGIt's an artists pastel and oil paint copy, essentially, of Edgar Degas' 'Woman Combing Her Hair' of 1897. It's drawn from the most recent project so I'll have to double check with BA Fine Art staff to ensure it isn't still needed for the remainder of the year for assessment purposes. If it is, then I'll have to get imaginative, I think. Gulp. :\ Dimensions are yet to be measured, so I'll have to see to that as well...

im not sure if it has been run in the past, but i guess as long as the work is not offensive or condoning anything illegal etc, it will be fine, as theres no particular theme. although on our particular spot odviously we dont want anything that contradicts what the society does . hope this helps

I do have a few prints being readied into frames... do I need to specifically approach anyone in order to 'sign up' to this event, or should simply answering in this thread be sufficient?
