lo peeps, We currently have around 12 artists on board - ranging from Norwegians to Argentinians - for the planned art exhibition. It's quite an interesting mix of photography, minimalism, abstract stuff and more. However, we have the main hall to fill, so we were aiming for at least 20 pieces. That's where you lot come in. I would like P&P members and anyone you might know to make something arty, whatever you feel like. I know Paul and Vicky are already at work on their pieces. The theme has yet to fully emerge, though consumer culture takes up the majority of the work so far. Let me know what you think. Leem

Well, each piece will have its own display board. A2 prints are pretty big. Hopefully the repsonse from people at the Uni will be good and we get lots of submissions. Setting a target of twenty seems reasonable at the moment. One hurdle is cost. Big prints are pretty expensive, again our lack of funds is proving to be very stifling.

hey liam, ill have a go at trying to make something arty, im sure i can knock up something loud and wacky. im thinking of doing something to do with people and the planet, inlolving a big circle and ignore rolf harris over there, im sure the exabition will be great and sounds a fab idea. i do graphics design for my degree so shouldnt be to much of a problem. when is it to be finished for?

Of course any work submitted doesn't have to have political content. The overall ethos of the exhibit is still being moulded as the amount of pieces we have increases. Much of what we have already isn't obviously political but still offers commentary and critique of modern life in many different subtle ways. If you catch my drift

do they have to be presented in A2 form? digital photos don't print at large sizes like that very well...
and it's definitely ok if it's more of a general display of photos, with no connecting theme? the event is just a general arty... thing, right?

Yeah, any size you like really. General photography should fit in alright.
